Anyhow, if you are not aware, the race is Jul 21 - Jul 22. It runs from Kitty Hawk, NC to Dayton, OH, and on into OSH the second day. The race was great fun last year with wonderful (read generous) sponsorship from Klein Tools. I personnally spent day one of the race in Broken Bow, OK teaching my son to finer points of diving into the hotel swimming pool (while awaiting FedEx). However, (with new parts installed), we turned in quite respectable speeds on day two (albeit disquallified for skipping day 1). The race is very professionally run and provides all sorts of Free Gedunk including T-shirts, fuel, food, Oshkosh week long passes, front row parking, and free advertising for the numerous contributors, etc. How can you say no to free stuff? The only quirk to this race is regarding classes for the LNC2 folks. As yet the Retractable Gear 180 HP class allows turbo'd or supercharged engines to run with the normally aspirated 180's. Hence, racers 2-5 were all within about 5 mph last year with the winner running rediculously faster. I assume this will be rectified as number of participants increases over the years. Applications are due at the end of the month. Plenty of good fun all. I highly recommend it! Go to the EAA website for details. Larry Henney N360LH
