I thought that there'd always be a bunch of pilots out there with more money
than time, thus helping the "pre-owned" Lancair market. Maybe as more of
the old "spam can" fleet "retires" and buyers experience "sticker shock" for
new ones, this will put upward pressure on prices. All this being said, I
thought about buying a Lancair, but the truth of the matter is that I enjoy
building almost as much as flying. Anyone contemplating building an
airplane should feel the same way. One reason I chose a Lancair to build is
that I knew, or at least thought subconsciously, that this was going to be a
"once in a lifetime" endeavor for me, so I wanted to do it right the first
time (build the best plane for the buck). At present, I don't plan to ever
sell my Lancair, but pass it down as a family heirloom, a "Legacy" so to
speak ...
