As you may know, Charles Lindbergs Grandson is going to fly a Lancair Columbia specially fitted with a 300 Gal wing from New York to Paris, re-tracing his Granpa's roots. If you were anywhere near Bend, OR at the time of your sighting, that "Black Dot" may have been caused by Mr. Lindberg trying out the solid waste elimination device which has no doubt been designed to assist him with ensuring his personal comfort during his long overwater flight. So in short, what you saw may have RHYMED with BIRD but then again .Regards,Dave Riggs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
