Standard aviation snips work real well.  Does wonders for your grip
strength too.  You can also trim it up with an abrasive wheel for final
fit.  Use the abrasive cutting disc.  Remember that with S.S. it work
hardens.  Get serious when you want to grind or drill and make the sparks
or chips fly.  If you don't you will have a tough time especially with the
drilling.  See Tony Bingelis, "Firewall  Forward" page 100.  To give you an
idea, S.S.  is often used in the mining industry for liners in material
handling systems where the product is highly abrasive.  It hardens off as
it is used and forms an abrasive resistant surface.
