Wouldn't you think that when you buy a new Lycoming engine, it would come
with an oil filter??? No dummy, it really is true that you get what you pay
for.  On the other hand, your new engine does come with an oil screen to
keep out the roaches and mosquitoes but Lycoming must think that an oil
filter is unnecessary weight as well as expense or their engines would not
leave the factory without one.
