I have full-length capacitance probes extending from a retaining sleeve on
the lowermost area inboard to the highest possible position in the wingtip.
Transition through the bellcrank area is via a fibreglass tube. The readings
are not linear but become more sensitive as the tank empties (full is 90L,
3/4 is 64L, 1/2 is 45L, 1/4 is 14L and 0 is absolutely nothing.
This system can only be installed before closeout of the wing. I strongly
suggest that anyone going this way should put small locating funnels on the
openings in the rib holes so that probes can be easily slid back in if
replacement is required.
