I could put it to Avemco, but it's more interesting to place it here. There are basically three parts to the coverage, Bodily Injury, Property damage, and hull. Avemco tells me the maximum Bodily Injury limit is $100,000 for my 360. Is this the pot that pays hospital bills for me and my surviving passenger? Which part pays out in case of death of myself or my passenger? Is there no payout except if my estate or my passenger's brings suit? If so, is the award limitless? Limited? Do payouts depend on my adherence to FARs? Do I have to avoid 'gross negligence'? I invite comments on my coverage, here's what I have... Bodily Injury: $100,000 each person (max available from Avemco) Property Damage: $1 million (Total liability limited to $1 million each accident) Aircraft Damage: $150,000 insured value Deductible: $10,000 both in motion and not in motion The cost is: Bodily Injury plus Property damage - $576 / yr. Aircraft Damage - $3,312 /yr. I'm a 550 hr instrument rated pilot with 100 hours in type and no accidents. The plane did cost around $150k when I add up all the invoices (not including labor). Does this look reasonable or are there problems (risks) I'm overlooking?
