Was looking into the panel lighting options available ( like aeroenhancements.com  for about $275.00 and others) and came across a very low cost alternative that looks like it might work nicely.  The neon like lights under cars/on dashboards look very similar.  Found one at neonglowfx.com that costs $24.60 (shipping included) for a 36 inch strip of 5mm thick blue light including power supply and wiring.  It has a round cross section but I plan on building a channel into the bottom of the glareshield to fit it into angled to put the light on the panel.

Just thought I'd pass this along to the builders with limited budgets.
