Hi there

I'm new to the group but I've met a few of you at Oskosh.

I have been asking Lancair 320/360 builders about the options as I rebuild a crashed 320 model.  This particular kit had a small tail and a short mount.  Most people, including Lancair staff, agree that switching to the long mount is a good choice. They disagree in regards to switching the tail to the larger MKII tail.

What I forgot to clarify, is wether the mount or tail options assume you are using the header tank (which must have some effect on CG).  In other words, if I use the header tank should I still switch to a long engine mount?   Further, what are the implications, if any, on the small or big tail option?
