My thoughts as an A+P IA are the 300 hp Lycomings ( as in Piper PA-32
series ) are very smooth and much easier to work with in the intake and
exhaust mountings. The 1/4 in exhaust studs in Continentals tend to
erode and break easily. Turbos definitely cause more cylinder wear
especially when not operated properly.
