This relates to the Pillar Point Fuel System. My "similar unit" was built by
Wayne Lanza who does business as Composite Designs. It features Skysports
capacitance fuel probes in the wings and header tank. When the "low" alarm
on the header tank is activated, it turns on the Facet pumps until the "high"
alarm is triggered, whence the pumps shut off. Each pump can be set to
"auto" or to "manual". An additional switch is "on" or "off". Normal
settings are "on" and "auto".
There are LED bar graphs indicating quantity in each tank. The display also
contains the landing gear switch and the landing gear lights. The thing is
about the size and shape of an audio panel. Fits at the top of the stack.
No pilot inputs are needed for normal operation. You only have to do
something if there is a failure.
This system was written up in an early edition of (then) Jim and Linda
Frantz's Lancair Network News.
