Atkins also sells a one piece wrap-over manifold that
would replace the straight manifold, which would put his throttlebody above
the engine.
That's the one I have
Paul. What injectors did you get for the throttle body? I tried
to call Dave today, but he's gone until next Thursday. Do you recall what
size they are? I have 550 stock injectors for the primaries, and I'm
hoping that the secondaries will be a bit larger.
Unfortunately, I don't have sufficient cowling space above the engine for
that. (I also have to move the alternator to the side for the same
reason).
It looks like I'm going to have no
shortage of lumps on my cowling. The intake is too tall, and the
turbo sticks out too far (even farther now) to the side. I have an
electric water pump, and a side mount alternator bracket on the way from Bruce,
but I'm starting to wonder if I won't just end up using a normal water pump and
alternator mount since I'm already going to have a lump on top.
Fortunately, these things don't bother me, because the second hand RV-3
project is just a test platform for the rotary engine. If
the engine really shines, then I may eventually come up with something else to
put it in.
If you come up with any
additional ideas, I sure would like to hear them. Possibly between the two of
us, we might come up with a good
solution. I am installing my
13B in a canard pusher, called the SQ2000. www.klscomposites.com
If everything works out as planned
(shhhh, don't tell my employer), I'll have a couple months off to work on the
plane full time. I hope to make some serious progress.
Unfortunately, I'm currently scheduled to go to Cleveland for two ^&*#$
weeks on Monday. I hate working for morons.
