You would have to be careful of contact with aluminum.  I have been told
that carbon fiber, or any graphite for that matter, is corrosive to
aluminum.  The millitary uses titanium for all of the hardware when using
carbon fiber.

Has anyone looked into creating carbon fiber intake manifolds for their
rotary engine? It would save weight and I would think it would not be
much more difficult than making a completely costume AL manifold.
