I discovered that the overflow tank nipple had a = defect, =20 The nipple was plugged solid with at least 1/4" of plastic.

Just = amazing...  Is=20 there no end to the odd things that can cause us grief :-)

The plane goes to the airport May 15th, and the DAR is scheduled = to do=20 the inspection on the 19th.  I still have to install the ELT.  = Much=20 harder to do than I thought, since they now require a remote.  I = had just=20 envisioned mounting it and being finished in 10-15 minutes.  So = much for=20 that theory. I have to remove the canard, I/P panel, and armrests to = fish the=20 cable from the ELT to the I/P.

Good=20 luck on the move.  It's mighty exciting to see it all assembled in = the=20 hanger for the first time.

As for the ELT, I don't = know of any=20 rule that requires a remote display.  I certainly didn't install = the remote=20 on mine, but then I have a single place, which doesn't require the ELT = in the=20 first place.  FWIW, in my RV-8, I had a remote on the panel, and = found that=20 it quit working after about a year.  Somehow, the cable went bad, = and had=20 to be replaced.  Getting that warm fuzzy feeling yet :-)  =

Also, I don't think = you have to=20 install the ELT until after you finish the test period, but you'd want = to check=20 on that.  Also, it may be the best time to have the = ELT.   My=20 wife made me install mine, so she could get the life insurance = money=20 quicker (kidding, but that's=20 the joke).

Cheers,

Rusty (should be airborne = again this=20 weekend)
