but the belt tension had pulled the alternator
downwards and crimped the feed line. I guess the tension bolt hadn't been
tight enough, or it needs some friction washers.
Blowing through the hose it was easy to feel the restriction caused by the
crimp. Excellent! I love it when you find a definitive
cause like that.
