I wonder what the difference is in the apex seals? Tracy's recent experience with a modified 13B with 2.85 to 1 PSRU lends a degree of credibility to Jason's views. Tracy, any comments you'd give a person trying to decide between "cheaper, more readily available RX-7 13B" and the newer, more expensive RX-8 13B"? We do not see a benifit to the engine that would make the project worth while at this time. We do not have an intake manifold that will work with the new engine and the apex seals are different that the current ones we produce so they are not interchangeable. The engine block is the same size so the accesories will have the same fittment problems. The engine has the same dissplacement (1.3 liters) the reason for the increased power is that Mazda has maximized efficency of the intake, exhaust, raised the compression and allowed a higher RPM. All of the same can be done on an older style block. > > Thanks, Jason > Atkins Rotary > 253-848-7776 > > > > -------Original Message------- > > From: David Carter > > Subject: RX-8 Renesis engine for RV-6 > > Sent: 27 Apr 2004 18:24:49 > > > > Hello, David. > > > > Have you started building up any RX-8 Renesis engines for use in RV > > airplanes?
