Rusty, turbo may not make sense for you tractor guys. For u= s pushers it does few things:

Directs the exhaust direct where we want it without any plumbing
Acts as a very good muffler
Gives a more when we need some using the waste heat and noise
The weight difference is not much if you think hoe much an exhaust for our = plane will weigh and subtract it from the weight of the turbo.
Less of an area to shield from the heat.
Makes a convenient exhaust augmenter for us pushers
And sounds so good when you say: IT IS TURBO CHARGED to folks that don̵= 7;t know what is a turbo :)
