Hi,
A low
tech, cheap, temporary, yet effective fix for me has been white duct tape.
White matches the fuselage color. The tape covers a yet to be
finished gap between the cowl duct entrance and the ducts themselves.
Helps a lot. Cruise temps yesterday where 175-180F

I used the foam sealing tape sold for house
windows weather sealing, etc. comes in different widths and thickness
generally with a sticky side. I just find the thickness/width that fill
in the gap and stick it to the outside of the duct. I have found that
the adhesive that comes with the tape may not be sufficient, so I use
some of the 3M adhesive. This approach is cheap and easy to replace and
modify. The tape can usually be found in white, grey and black
colors.

Subject: [FlyRotary] cooling duct
seal?
Greetings,
I did the first test
fit of my cooling ducts, and there's hope for them. I still haven't
decided exactly what I'm going to do to seal the front of the duct to the
cowl inlet. There's only about 1/8" gap at most, and I'm thinking that
it will probably work fine without any additional seal, however, I'll
probably try to put some sort of foam strip to get some sort of a
seal.
I looked through all
the pics I have, and can't find a picture that shows the front of anyone's
duct. How are you guys sealing these to the cowls?
Pictures???
Cheers,
Rusty
