I used alcohol to clean the surfaces before applying the grey Permatex.
Same when assembling the PSRU.
Apply on both surfaces.
Also follow instruction and let it sit for a while before tightening the bolts all the way.

I did this per the original instructions in 2008 and when I recently filled it with oil it started to weep out thru the grey permatex.
