Every one I've gone to will test it free. They will tell you how much current it will produce, check diodes, etc. They have a book that they can check which lead is "I" and which is "F" for you and check the "I" lead function. That's what I did on a couple of alternators I picked up at wreck yards and didn't know exactly what they came off of. Worked for me .... Jim S..
