Good news Bill, nothing broken, bad news, no seals pinched or out of place. When sys. pressurized, noticed coolant seemed to be coming from around the outer ring of the exhaust stainless steel inserts in the rotor housing. Was definitely not spilling over from inside. That is why we were thinking cracked housing. After getting it apart found there is what I assume is a set screw for the SS inserts installed through coolant passage, no cracks noted as of yet. I think this set screw is leaking into/behind the SS inserts. going to figure out a way of testing for leaking set screw. Will add photos when done to help others. This is weird.                                     David R. Cook RV6A  Rotary

Some people used too big of o-rings inadvertently, and when the engine got hot, they expanded enough to break out the cast iron edge of the groove.

Fresh rebuild, two hrs. of test run time, coolant in combustion chamber from-?, confirmed with exhaust removal and borescope. During rebuild irons were inspected, resurfaced and surface rehardened. Thoughts at this point: I messed up and pinched a seal ( 35 years professional automotive repair, automatic trans, computer controlled sys. specialist, was very meticulous about housing mating ) or cracked rotor housing, was seeing coolant coming from bottom of exhaust at housing after run. Any other thoughts welcome. Removing eng., again, now.                                  David R. Cook  RV6A Rotary.
