Transfer
Rusty, are you talking about pulling fuel out of your truck's
fuel tank
to fill the plane? What a wonderful idea. I have a
24gal tank on my
pickup. It would take two trips to the gas station,
but it would be
much nicer than having some huge bomb-wannabe sitting
around idle most
of the time.
Yep, that's what I'm
planning. My hanger police won't allow fuel storage, so it has to be
something that you can take with you. I thought of doing this before,
but the typical tank only holds 17 gallons or so, and that wasn't enough to be
worth the trouble. Now that I have this fine 34 gallon tank, it will
work very well. The RV-3 only holds 30, and will never be below 5
gallons. I just need a suitable pump, and I'm in business. As you
may be able to tell, I'm still looking for reasons to help ease the pain of
buying a truck, and selling my FD. Not being arrested for tripling the
speed limit is one reason :-)

I was at West Marine Supply in
Mobile, Alabama a couple of weeks ago, and they have a nice 30 gallon plastic
fuel container with a pump handle similar to the one you use at a gas station
for your car. Nice looking setup. That is what I had considered
using. I will try to stop by there again in the next couple of days and
check out the price. Paul
