Am I ever ticked off about this battery. Today at a
bit above freezing it would only give me about ten seconds of
cranking total spread over several minutes. Sure it has been two
months since I flew last but this is why I paid more than double the cost of a
standard lead acid. The specs say long shelf life and NO loss of output due to
low temp is what I should get. I've had much better shelf life and cold cranking
on my 180 Lycoming with small size auto batteries that I've used in the winter
over the past 20 years.
The 13B did fire up once but without fuel injection
cold starting isn't as trouble free.
Now that we have relocated to waterfront I now have
a huge airstrip out front and can't wait to get the Deuce flying
again.
