Thanks, Rusty.....I agree....we are so fortunate to
have people like Fred to bring us closer to a "firewall forward" rotary
installation. The more "bolt on" and/or standard items that become
available just furthers our cause and rotary movement.I feel that a lot more
rotary installations will be seen as more and more of the support items are
produced for the rotary engine, such as engine mounts, aluminum oil pans,
electronic ignition, intake manifolds, PSRU's,exhaust systems and cooling
systems. I salute people like Fred, Tracy Crook and Jerry Hey. Paul

Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Fw: Motor
Mounts
I purchased an
engine mount from Fred at Conversion Concepts for my SQ2000 canard
pusher. After installing the mount, I found that the thrust line
was incorrect. I notified Fred, and he apologized for the error and
informed me that it is not a problem...."I stand behind my products", and
we'll fix it.
Sorry to hear about the problem, but glad (and not
surprised) to hear that Fred's going to make it
right.
I just installed my mount on the RV-3 this past weekend,
and it fit pretty well. While I had the fuselage level to align the
gear legs, I put a level on the mount. It looks like it may have
about a degree of up-thrust built in, but it's hard to say until I get
the engine mounted. Either way, I consider this fantastic, and nothing
that can't be shimmed with a couple of washers if needed. I just
can't imagine the agony I would have gone through to get to this point without
Fred :-)
Cheers,
Rusty
