1) $
2) Complexity
3) Reliability
On 3 it's not neccessarily a pump failure, but the thin lines from the pump to the oil injectors are known to get brittle and break, and I'm kind of scared of having oil dripping down on my exhaust (don't ask why :)
Once you get into the habit of adding an ounze of MMO/TC-3 to your 5 gallon cans before filling them at the local gas station and lugging then out to the airplane, it's not really that much of a bother. Not really more so than remembering to top off your MMO reservoir.
Now, you should be able to talk Ed into getting one as he's using Av gas (all just because his eyebrows got singed a bit :)

Just a reminder! With my adapter on the oil metering pump, you can use any
oil you feel comfortable with, and don't have to mess with mixing or worry
about oil settling in your tank. Can anyone explain to me why there is no
one using an adapter in an airplane? I am already getting inquiries for an
adapter for the RX8. What do the car people see different?
