Yes, see my earlier post -  After a night of heavy rain, Max’s engine started to sputter 5 minutes after take off the next morning.  He made it safely back to the airport.
 
I strongly suspect water contamination of his fuel tanks as his engine was running fine when he shut down the day before.  He normally keeps it in a hangar and as I have personally found out – old rubber fuel cap seals can get hard and leak after some time.  I found this out under similar situation (heavy rain - not over the ocean). 
 
I suggested Max check his fuel for water contamination as a starting point.
