Both temps are fine at idle, could possibly idle indefinately, any power makes oil temp peak first, just not enough air from the prop, need to be moving.
I have an issue where fuel is pooling in a low spot in the intake runners at idle. Kind of like auto rich adjustment as the engine eventually sucks it in. Makes tuning fun. seems ok at mid to high rpm.

Thanks Andrew
What happens to your water temps? Is it just your oil thats the problem?

Steve, Looks like were both at about the same point. I have run my engine stationary for a couple of hours now, just trying to fine tune the EC2. My temps are fine for about 4-5 minutes but definitely not enough airflow to cool the oil when stationary so takes lots of short run ups, I'm thinking its better to just rough tune then get on the runway to get some air through the coolers.
definitely need to rig up a video to record, as too much happens at once.

I had a TC & AP inspection in Sept. lots of little issues to fix with the airframe which I'd neglected, due to being so immersed in the powerplant. most bits done now so will be back into engine runs again soon.

Cheers

Hi Guys
For those who have tested and flying their machines.
I’m finally about to ground(stationary) test our Renesis 4 port powered Glassier Super IIRG
EC2, EM3, RD1-C Electrical Pitch Prop.

Your wisdom, experiences, testing procedures to carry out would be very much appreciated.

Particularly whats reasonable to expect from my cooling system (modelled of Tracy’s RV8)?
Now I’m sure it depends upon load and OAT, but what where your experiences?
How long could you guys run before overheating etc?
Did you provide any supplemental cooling to extend this testing?
I’m thinking of putting a water mist jet into the cooling duct/s to see if it significantly increases cooling and time testing.

Appreciate you feedback.

Sincerely

Steve Izett
