From what I remember, all these posts are correct. Bud Warren and his daughter were in a Wheeler which caught fire while airborne and the were able to land and egress without serious injuries. Sometime later they were flying in a South African “Raven” which looks like a Piper Commanche, and they again had some sort of engine issue with smoke in the cockpit (?); and they ultimately crashed and were killed. Dr. Moss (I believe his name was) purchased Bud Warren’s business and installed it in his Glasair III and he dropped in for a visit at our Alternative get-together at Paducah some years ago, and he was tragically killed in the crash of his Glasair a week or so later at the Canard fly in. The Geared Drive business is running again now out of Texas, and a friend of mine is putting one in his RV-7A with an Eggenfelner engine; so hopefully it will work out for him…time will tell…
Fly safe out there!
