Most of the lists I belong to are undergoing a slow period.
Most everyone is focused on the holiday’s I’m sure.
My 20B is on hold right now. I picked up a Velocity project last March that already has been flying. I’m trying to get it back into flying condition then it’s back to work on my rotary.
I was watching “How it’s Made” featuring the Koenisegg One:1 . They have a Carbon Fiber Intake Manifold.
Has there been any attempt to do this with the rotary?
I know that heat is an issue with it being located right over the exhaust but I did find a Phenolic intake manifold gasket that they say has some insulating effectiveness to reduce heat transfer to the IM itself.
If they can use Phenolic here, wouldn’t CF stand up as well?
I just don’t know if it has been done. I’m really not all that anxious to find out it doesn’t stand up to the heat while I’m in the air.
