Thomas,
With the vents in the sump tanks, the pump
will not pull from the wing tanks and so they must be gravity fed. With only a
head of a couple of inches, that is not optimum. If the fuel filter starts to
plug, the resulting low pressure on the suction side of the pump will likely result
in vapor lock especially if the pump is in the engine compartment where it is
hot. Filters are best after the pump so they are under pressure and not
vacuum.

assume that the below is what you changed it from, so what did you change it
to? Do you have a drawing of that?
