I took a cheap pair of vice grips.  Welded a blob to one side of the jaws, then smoothed it round.  Filed a groove on the opposite side.  Three or four large bumps around the diameter of the tube is enough to keep any clamped hose from slipping off.

I once saw a simple way to add beading to a metal pipe on a car site once.  The guy cut a 3/16 in piece off the end of the pipe and used a tubing expander to increase the diameter just enough so it would slip over the pipe, and the then soldered it onto the pipe, and filed off any sharp spots, and "wa-law", a homemade bead to resist the dreaded pressurized rubber hose pull off...
