We have used the stock longer cowl. Steve
Steve,
Because of the RG are you shooting for stock cowling? Or trying to make it longer and rounder?
Mark
Hi MarkWe are building and near finished a Renesis powered G Super II RG in Perth Western Australia. Steve Izett
I am building a Glasair Super 2 TD. I have a renesis that I am about 30% done rebuilding. I'd say I would like to be flying in 3 years. But I have long way to go. I have a fuselage a wing and a horizontal stab so that means lots and lots of small stuff to fabricate.
Building in Norfolk VA for now.

Well, since you did… :>) A while back you posted some videos to Utube of your flights. How about some more? I have looked at the old ones so much the images are beginning to be burned into my monitor. :>) I need some more! Bill Oops, it looks like I jumped right in the middle of your post. Sorry about that. Project is done except for paint and interior. It's a Lancair ES with a P-port 20b. Cruises at 210 mph burning around 12.5-13 gph. Got over 300 hours on it now and love the rotary engine. The 20b is a perfect match for the Lancair airframe. Mark, What are you building and where are some pictures? Bill As someone that is far away from the flying stage - and that has lurked on the lists for a few years it's great to hear that people are not giving up on their rotaries and sticking with the lists. I look forward to the day that I can fly in form with you guys. I would say on average I get told I am crazy about 80% of the time people ask me what I am putting up front. With the issues associated with the list is there any interest in trying to move this to a more modern system (forum, wiki, or update the system that runs the list)? Yep, it was great to see you to Ed, that was a long drive from MI, Meagan & Cody bought a new house just S. of Charlotte NC in SC. I'm sure we will be back to see them again. The RV6A rotary is back in the air again after some more wiring changes & I am studying formation flying, we have 6 RV's at our little Mason JewettAirport already & more coming. Next project will be smoke sys., would like to make it portable. David R. Cook RV6A rotary
Hi Bill, Been sitting in email limbo regarding the rotary list - surprised to find my email access back in operation today. Saw your query about my status back some months ago and attempted to answer - but, no Joy. Have not been active flying. Got a cataract developing in my remaining eye and figured I could not pass a class III, so decided not to try. Not eager to go under the knife to fix it as I lost sight in my right eye due to a boutched operation. I've basically been busy building a product (The EICommander http://www.eicommander.com/) to monitor and control one of the popular new electronic ignitions for the lycomings - they are called Pmags. Been doing it for about 4 years now. Business really picked up once Aircraft Spruce contacted us and wanted to put the product in their catalog. Sold 20 units so for this year and expect another order before the year ends. Just finishing up the (painful {:>)) transition from the older 8 bit microprocessor chip I had been using for years to a 32 bit chip for increased performance and a larger (2.4") display. Boy, talk about a steep learning curve for an old brain! I sort of got a bit discouraged on the rotary front, when Mazda decided not to produce the 16X - had my pennies already saved up to buy one and replace my old 13B. The 13B and my RV-6A are sitting in my hangar and I am going to need to decide whether to part with it or get my eye fixed and back to flying it. But, I do follow all of your folks still active on the rotary front - So while no longer as active as I once was, I am still just as interested in what you guys are doing. David Cook stopped by a few months back and that was a delight to have him to chat with for a spell. Welcome mat is always out for anyone coming through Charlotte, NC and have the time and inclination to stop for a spell and shoot the bull.
