The sound from HP II is more concentrated in a narrow spectrum which makes it easier for ANR headsets to cancel but sound pressure readings in the cockpit are a good 5 - 8 db higher. This is bad. I like quiet airplanes. Not so much from the pilots point of view but from the ground observer. Too many pot-smoking beatniks trying to get aircraft banned from parks up here. 6. The airplane is frighteningly fast due to 4 & 5. Could not do an all out top speed run due to airframe concerns. I backed off when airspeed exceeded Vne by 10 mph. This is very good! So good in fact, that I can almost forget about #3 above :-). I can't wait to hear about the results of the Sun100 race. Inspection of the spintech internals (easy to see through the inlet) showed it was in perfect condition after ~ 300 hours. The SpinTech design seems to be pretty tough. Even my own homemade version looks as good today as when I built it. ~30hrs. S.
