That shaft is held true in the flywheel and in the planetries the other end. Once removed I suspect that the shaft would be "moveable" as you describe. Suggest a new seal and see what happens. hours is reasonable for a simple 1 inch seal. Neil.

Hi all
Just wondering whether anyone can tell me what the play side to side should be in the rd1c gearbox input shaft and what to expect from the oil seal, i can move the input shaft a little and see a visible gap on the input seal once removed from the motor.Motor has done approx 400 hrs.
Just reinstalled the motor after some work and noticed oil dribbling from under the flywheel, thus why it was removed.
