+1 on your departure, but as Ed says, there will always be a community waiting if (when) you can no longer stay away.

Hate to see you go, Dave

Must tell you that sometime the "infection" just never goes away - just abides for a while.  I first got started in early 1960s and got so far as building the aileron for a Thorp T-18.  Job, family and life just started taken up too much of my time for the project.  Sold the G125 Lycoming GPU engine I had purchased for $125.00 and thought I was finished with flying and ever building.

In 1997 (33 years later), I flew my Rotary Powered RV-6A - so just wanted to warn you that it may never go away.  I went 28 years without flying, but fortunately the license never expired, did take a few flights to get recurrent {:>)

Drop back from time to time and chat with old friends

Best of good fortune to you, Dave - we all understand what priorities are and there are times when certain things must take a back seat.

Its been a fun ride and an interesting existence here for quite a few years…

I got my PPL in 1999, hooked up with Chris Barber through mutual friends the day he took delivery of his Velocity and for quite a few years was involved in his build.

Life and finances took over, and the reality is I've not flown since 2006. I'm currently neck deep in nurse practitioner school working on my first masters degree. I will be a special issuance medical now if and when I do return to flying, and while I've enjoyed reading about the successes and learning from the failures on this listserv, this is just not something I have the time or current interest to keep pursuing. I'm no closer to buying a tail kit or a bunch of fiberglass now than I was 10 years ago.

Dave L, Ed, Chris, Tracy and the dozens here who've been such an omnipresent part of the community, you guys are a great group and I've learned much over the many years. But its time to move on.

Peace out, Ya'll
