I doubt that I need it, but it came with the kit. I just looked and the boost pump is almost $1800! I should have sold it and not installed it! What the boost pump will do in my installation is cure vapor lock prior to the Gascolator and EFI pump inlets, should that occur. The second, or backup pump, is controlled by a pressure sensor & relay. If the pressure drops below 30 psi the second pump automatically kicks on. Both pumps are downstream of a 6-port Andair valve which determines which tank I'm drawing from. This is for a low-wing a/c. Mark S.
