Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I need to throw a stake in the ground and start somewhere on the intake, thus... So, I have a NA 6-port 13b, suitably ported and modified by Bruce T. Now, I'd like for the DIE effect to settle in on my cruise RPM say 4800-5200, hopefully this range represents a reasonable balance between power and economy. This intake would be using 2 runners, one for the primaries and the other for the secondaries, from what I've been able to gather the primary port to port length should be in the 40inch range and the secondaries should be in the 55inch range. So, I've got 4 tubes and a throttle body somewhere in the middle of the 4 tubes. Port to port on the outer is 55 inches and the inner is 40 inches. Anything horribly wrong so far? Moving on, instead of having the intake hang 90 degree turn to get into the the engine block, the runners go straight out 5 or 6 inches, then do a 180 and double back to the throttle body. Do the bends in the intake come into play for DIE? Do I gain anything like say air velocity by not doing the 90 turn at the engine block? With regards to throttle body's, does it affect DIE by having a throat larger than the intake runners? By this I mean does having a single larger throat, vs. say 4 smaller throats have an effect. How much does it matter where the injectors are mounted? Instead of leaving the injectors on the engine block, all 4 are mounted equi-distant from the ports. I am sure this will not be the last intake fabricated, I'd like to get a reasonable intake fabricated which might not be the best for my application, but at least it won't be the worst. Thus, allowing me to move on to the next challenge... Thanx... -Scott
