I like this design better than Vettermans except for the possible nose gear interference problems. It appears the convex floor and vertical walls starts to converge just aft of the exhaust pipe exits. This should help accelerate the exit airflow without too much back pressure. The outside shape should keep the external airflow attached.

Looks similar to Larry Vettermans subcowling mod, he also claimed that this mod was his biggest single speed increase
