Two Geo alternators weigh just slightly more than one RX-7 alternator. There have been times when I had to resort to shutting down one alternator and running the entire system off one Geo alt. via cross feed. That was a non-issue as one Geo alt. will run things just fine as long as I'm not running the pitot heat. Dual batteries are connected in parallel during starting only. It is wired per Aero-Electric Z-14 schematic. Mark S. On Tue, Jul 17, 2012 at 3:04 PM, wrote: > ** > Anybody thinking about the LI (Ballistic) batteries. Starting should be no problem. I do wonder about their, as well=20 as=A0AGM, =A0capacity in the case of Alternator failure. (time with=20 power)
=A0
Am knee deep in wiring as I write this. Trying to decide on dual=20 alternators.
=A0
The rotaries are hungry for electricity (EFI, EI, fuel pumps, etc).
=A0
My primary alternator is the standard Renesis 100A type. I will extern= ally=20 regulate it. The aux, --unknown --possibly a 20A B&C, I have their aux = that=20 fits into the vacuum drive.
