There was a KingAir 100? along with the Beech 18s last year at the pumpkin drop!

Shame Google didn't pull images the previous year; we had a P-51 & Corsair parked where the two Beech 18's are parked.

Try Youtube: 'Slobovia Pumpkin Toss', or just 'Slobovia Outernational' for a few videos of prior years.

Sorry; I've forgotten what you fly, but anything other than a large bizjet or one of the original Eze's should be fine. The brown in the google earth image is just dying grass (early November); the field is actually in great shape. Official length is 3540', but it was extended about a decade ago to around 4800'. Width is 80'. For a handle on the range of a/c that have been here, we've had a Mitsubishi MU-2 land for an airshow (and leave, safely), & the Blockbuster Blimp has done a touch & go on the runway. A Swearingen SX-300 visits often. There was a Beech Baron based here for years. A Velocity sheltered here during one of the hurricanes that hit New Orleans (pre-Katrina). So find someone local with turf time & get them to fly with you on a local grass strip to get comfortable, & you'll be fine. Grass is much more forgiving than pavement. Just keep the stick back while taxiing if you fly a nose dragger to keep the weight off the nose gear (not really needed here, but good policy anytime when pushing a nose wheel around).

Charlie,

What was going on there last Nov 4??  The Google earth view shows over 30 aircraft parked on the ramp!  AirNav says only 13 are based there!

What shape is the turf runway in?  I am somewhat concerned about landing on turf.  Talk to me guys!
