The important factor about carbon is the type.  When injecting oil from the pan the carbon is hard / varnish like and very difficult to remove.   When using premix 2 cycle the carbon is soft and easy to remove and does not cause seals to stick in the grooves.   The carbon is mostly residue from gasoline, not the oil.

Bill,

on the 86-88 rotors considerably more considering they had 580 hours on them ?
I presume there is still no definitive reason for your sudden power loss............

Kelly,

I was using one oz of TC-W3 per gallon.  I had the engine off 170 hrs ago due to a broken side seal on one rotor.  While it was down I put in higher compression 91-94 rotors and counterweights.
