However, I've used this stuff called StartLite from Aeroquip. It is made from Nomex and Kevlar, has the Aeroquip AQP innertube. It weighs almost nothing, though still a bit expensive. The hose itself is not too expensive, but the fittings are. You can use either reusable fittings or crimp fittings - I used crimp for durability. I'm using -16 hose for the coolant and it has proven to get the job done. My coolant lines are somewhat long, so the light weight of the StartLite is a real advantage. I have a PDF brochure on the stuff if anyone is interested.
