I have no idea if polarity affects CAS pickups, but my home built cra= nk trigger using Chrysler pick ups were affected by polarity. A positive go= ing pulse had a nice flat front on it to trip the SCR but when reversed, th= e long slow build of the positive side had timing going nuts.
