One more indicator for different ring gears. I just
got a new RX7 starter motor for the single rotor. The question was "turbo or not
turbo", and the listing showed for the turbo starter 13 teeth and 12 for the non
turbo. The lay out on the single rotor is for a turbo starter because that was
what I had when I started out. Is the turbo RX7 cranking slightly faster than
the non turbo?
The tooth profile is the same.
FWIW.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Flywheel sizes
Here is some good evidence that we will not be able to use the
flywheel in place of the flex plate.
On this page at Mazdatrix, scroll down until you see the tools labeled
"flywheel stopper"
Note that one of them fits the non-turbo flywheel BUT NOT THE AUTO.
And the other fits the turbo (Which I assume is different than the n.a.
auto since they don't list it there either). We may be stuck just trying
to beef up the existing flex plate.
