Ernest, I thought the calculation for a test club was X section = 1/15th of length, means a 90mm square should be 1350mm or 54” in your language. mine is 90x1350mm calculated to absorb 190hp@2450rpm. do I have this wrong, or do you have a more up to date equation? only problem I can see with using a test club is needing supplemental air for the heat exchangers or very short runs.
I used the attached spreadsheet.

I'm in need of a test prop so that I can achieve cruise RPM on the ground for engine tuning/test purposes. I am having problems in the rpm range that I am only able to achive in flight with my current prop. I need a prop that is suitable for  equal to or less than 160 hp, and turns in the clockwise direction on a tractor airplane as seen from the cockpit. I only need this for ground running with the tail tied down and at speeds not to exceed 2500 RPM. If anyone knows of such a prop being available for my purposes, I'd appreciate hearing from them.

I finished this prop today, Brian.  Nothing left to do but put some paint on it.  It is 90mm square and 70" long.  The theory is that I will be able to enter the RPM my engine drives this at into an equation, and it will tell me the HP I'm producing.
If you've got a few days for me to finish some test runs,  I could certainly share.

On a related note: I modified the previous prop I had carved to give it more pitch.  My airplane moved under its own power today.  Not fast, or far, but I did get a chance to use the brake 8*)

I also got a smooth idle between 850 and 900 RPM.

I've got to get my generator sorted out, and then I'll be ready to put the cowl on with its radiator so that I can have some extended tuning runs.
