Subject: [FlyRotary] RV-10 20B First Start

All,
<= /DIV>
  This is my first post to the foru= m, but I have utilized the archive to gather information and assist me thro= ugh my RV-10 build process.  All the information in this forum has bee= n tremendous.

I started constructing my RV-10 in Oct 2= 006  while stationed at Coast Guard Air Station North Ben= d, OR.  I continued to build it while I was stationed in = Jacksonville FL and I finally have it in a hangar out here in Colorado Spri= ngs CO.  The aircraft has been all the way across the US = on the ground.  I am glad to say that I finally got it st= arted yesterday 25Jun11.  It started right up, but had to= keep the cold start on the EC3 in order for it to run smoothly. The EM3 wa= s working as advertised and oil pressure and temp was excellent. = ;

I did another start today, still had to = keep the cold start on.  I quickly changed it to MODE 3 a= nd attempted to increase the injector flow rate.  This wa= s a task, she did not want to run and boy was she rough.  I continued to increase the injector flow rate, but I could not get to idl= e smoothly.  I went back to MODE 0 and turned the cold st= art back on and she smoothed out.  It was 95 degrees toda= y here in Colorado Spring and I shut her down as water temp reach 200. Oil = temp was only reading 160.  I have not completed the duct= work for the Radiator yet, but it will be completed here shortly, but for = now, I will continue to do my short ground runs in an attempt to get her id= ling smoothly.  These past few days have been very satisf= ying.  4.5 years turning out great.
