Not sure I interpreted your message correctly, but if you can run for 15 minutes on the ground and only see 170-180F - but, I don't think you have a problem.  If I run above 5000 rpm my temps will hit those ranges inside a minute or two.  Now reduced power I can run longer, but the temps still slowly climb.
 
On the other hand using a "Laser" gun remoted temperature sensor is measuring the external temps - what are your cooling and oil temps under those conditions?
