Reno, I never used one in 11 + years of flying with my
13B. In fact, most are removed due to the fire hazard potential caused by
them leaking - not a question of If, but when. Rx-7 Fires have been
reported supposedly as a results.
The dampers tend to smooth out the shock waves in the fuel
line caused by the injectors closing and opening - but, I know of no problems
reported by not using them. Lynn Hanover would probably be the one with
the knowledge to really know.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Fuel damper
Is the fuel pressure damper really
necessary. Mine started to leak and I replaced it with a plug.
What are the consequences?
