Reno, I never used one in 11 + years of flying with my 13B.  In fact, most are removed due to the fire hazard potential caused by them leaking - not a question of If, but when.  Rx-7 Fires have been reported supposedly as a results.

The dampers tend to smooth out the shock waves in the fuel line caused by the injectors closing and opening - but, I know of no problems reported by not using them.  Lynn Hanover would probably be the one with the knowledge to really know.

Is the fuel pressure damper really necessary.   Mine started to leak and I replaced it with a plug.  What are the consequences?
