I suggest building the circuit I describe at <http://casson.2y.net/EC2_Tuning.html> on a prototyping breadboard which looks like this <http://www.elexp.com/bb_2wwk.htm> so you don't need fire up the soldering iron. Of course this is for ground testing only.
