You are well within operating limits. Your prop speed is only 815 fps.  I try to limit the guys at 850.

Larry,

No not in the air at present............Project has been slowed by parental caretaker duties but
am actively obtaining parts..............Airframe is built but holding off cover (Fiberglass) until all
systems are in place (Much easier to get to)............Additional info..........The Rotary will never
be turned higher than about 7200 rpm (2526 prop rpm) which is still "Loafing" for a Rotary in
my installation..............How are tip speeds at this rpm for a 74 inch prop ??..............

Thanks again,

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the info.  Yes, I am quite familiar with your aircraft. I have seen a couple fly at some airshows I used to attend and have actually been inside of them.  The ones I saw had a 180 Lyc with a fixed pitch prop.  Once airborne they seemed to perform quite well, but needed a lot of runway to get airborne.  Probably a CS prop would have made all of the difference.

I would recommend our VP2 series prop, a 3 bladed prop will give a very smooth performance.

Are you currently flying?

Larry

Larry,

Forgot to include the airframe if you are not familiar with the "Dyke Delta"...............Cruises at
about 180 mph with a 180 hp Lyc 0-360 (some are faster with 200 hp I0-360 or 210 hp I0-390)
and we have 2 flying with Rotary (about 180 hp) but not turbo charged..................See attached
photo.............

Thanks,

Larry,

Turbo/13B Rotary engine (pretty much mirrors Steve Veach's engine)..............Expect about 250 hp max at
no more than about 5 psi (40 in MP) for take off (or show off)............Will normalize to sea level hp (30 in MP)
approx 200 hp at altitude for most operation.............Tracy Crooks 2.85 to 1 planetary reduction unit (not sure
what ratio Steve has)...........This PSRU will give 2105 prop rpm at 6000 engine rpm (common cruise rpm for
a Rotary).............I can swing a 74 inch prop with good ground clearance and have a 3 blade electric inflight
adjust "IVO Prop" at present for flight testing (Fully realizing the "IVO" is less than an optimum prop)............

Thanks,

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for your inquiry. We custom build the blades to fit the application, so there really is no maximum diameter. The diameter is determined by the prop tip speed at takeoff RPM.

What is your application?

Larry

Mr Morgan,

Would like to know max diameter of your props and am also interested in the Paul Lipps (sp) designed blades.......Was
sent your way by Steve Veach..........A lot of talk currently on the "Fly rotary" forum about your props..........

Thanks,
